About
Hey, I’m Stacy.
I didn’t start Hey App Works because I wanted to start a software agency. I started building apps because I was tired of trying to make my businesses fit software that wasn’t built for them.
Based in Southern Maine · Working with small businesses here and beyond
I own businesses in Maine. Before this, I ran a design business. These days I own and operate KUMA Fit — locations, employees, customers, schedules, and the systems that have to work on a normal day, whether the software cooperates or not.
The same problem kept showing up. Scheduling that didn’t match the real day. Staff notes living in texts. Customer information split across tools. A spreadsheet that quietly became the real system. Software that almost worked, and still didn’t fit.
- Scheduling that never quite matched the real day
- Staff communication spread across texts and memory
- Customer information living in too many places
- Workflows held together by workarounds
- Spreadsheets that quietly became the real system
- Software that almost worked — and still didn’t fit
So I started building tools to solve those problems inside my own businesses. Little fixes at first. Then systems a team could actually use. I wasn’t trying to start an agency. I needed the work to get done.
Then I realized other small-business owners were stuck in exactly the same place. That’s Hey App Works. You work directly with me. You don’t need to know anything about software. I’ll translate the messy business problem into something we can actually build — the schedule, the staff tools, the customer list, the jobs, the internal workflow, the portal, the spreadsheet that became the real system.
You’re not hiring a giant development agency. You’re working with a small-business owner who understands operations and builds software.
Hey App Works is based in Southern Maine. I work with small businesses throughout Maine and with owners elsewhere in the United States. If you’re down the road or a few states away, we can still build around how you work.
In Maine? Here’s how I work with businesses around the state.
Tell me what’s driving you crazy.
You don’t need a technical plan. Tell me how the business works, what’s annoying, and what you wish existed. I’ll take it from there.
